BME Suffolk Support Group (BSSG) Mission statement:
BME Suffolk Support Group (BSSG) is an award-winning registered non-profit community organisation based in Ipswich and West Suffolk area providing practical support and advise to marginalized ethnic groups and wider community to achieve social integration and general wellbeing for good stability in their lives.
BME Suffolk Support Group (BSSG) Objective:
BSSG objective is to continue to relieve people from BME communities & wider communities from poverty in Ipswich and Suffolk area by addressing deprivation within disadvantage and marginalised individuals and families.
BSSG achieved this by supplying food provision via our Foodbank Project, support for Children and Young People (CYP), Community Cafe to address social isolation and loneliness, Drop-in Advise & Support, Community Gathering Events, Educational trips/workshops.
BSSG bring people together & build strong relationships in and across communities, which enable more people to fulfil their potential by working to address issues at earliest possible stage.

Food Bank Project
Our Foodbank offers continental foods for wider communities as well as cultural food nourishment for ethnic group to support individuals and families to address food poverty within our local communities. Service open to all communities

Children and Young People Project
This is an-After-School Club for children and Young People aged 6-16+ at our Youth centre in our Hub. We offer variety of social activities during the term-time and holidays to support and develop social, physical, cultural and community values to improve their confidence, self-esteem and sense of belonging.
Youth Group (age 6-16+)
Days: Every other Tuesdays.
Time: 5pm-6.30pm
Babies & Toddlers Group
Days: Every other Mondays
Time: 11am- 1pm
Library Services (with diverse genre range of books)
Days: Monday -Friday
Time: 9.30am -3pm

Community Café
Our Cafe provides a weekly free social space for everyone to use for networking and build stronger community. The aim is to continue to support individuals and families with a nice friendly, comfortable atmosphere to address social isolation and loneliness. There's free Wi-fi, board games and smiley volunteers and staff to talk to.

Advice & Support Drop-In
Our weekly Advice & Support services provides platforms for individuals and families across all backgrounds facing hardship in Housing, benefit, Immigration, Employment and local Assistance Welfare.

Health and Wellbeing Project
Our Health and wellbeing project offer peer support group for people struggling with their physical and mental health wellbeing. These are local people coming together to share their mental health journey together, form friendship, and support each other. The service is free, informal and no booking required
Mental Health Peer Support Group
Every Thursdays
Time: 1pm - 3pm


Friendship Fridays for Elders (Age 60+)
The aim of the peer support group for the eldrs is to address loneliness and isolation.
Days: Every other Fidays
Time: 11am- 1pm

Community Gathering Events
The aim is to bring people together to socialise, build friendship and strengthen communities relationship. Join us for variety of event that includes music, dance, food and fun.
Days: One Saturday each month

Volunteering Programme

BME Suffolk provide number of capacity building programme for local communities purposes. BME Suffolk Hub serve as resource and learning centre for educational and development skills programme via voluntering to support individuals, to gain new skills, teamwork, improve self confident whilst building employability portfolio via adequate skills and training we offer.
